Ingredients

• 200 gSmoked trout fillets
• 100 gCream cheese
• 150 mlHeavy cream
• 2 tbspCreamed horseradish
• 1 tspFresh horseradish
• 1 tbspLemon juice
• 0,5 tspSalt
• 1 pinchBlack pepper
• 0,5 bunchDill
• 8 piecesPumpernickel rounds

Preparation

1. 1Whip the heavy cream in a chilled bowl until very stiff and keep refrigerated until ready to use.
2. 2Stir the cream cheese, creamed horseradish, finely grated fresh horseradish, and lemon juice until smooth.
3. 3Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture to maintain its airy texture and season with salt and pepper to taste.
4. 4Carefully break the trout fillets into bite-sized pieces, checking for any stray bones.
5. 5Pipe or spoon the horseradish mousse evenly onto the pumpernickel rounds.
6. 6Place a piece of trout on top of the mousse and garnish the appetizer with sprigs of fresh dill.
